PSG’s Hakimi Heads to Japan Tour as Mbappé Stays Behind Amid Contract Dispute

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi will fly to Japan as part of the Paris Saint-Germain tour. His friend and teammate, Kylian Mbappé, will not be part of the adventure.
Paris Saint-Germain star striker Kylian Mbappé will not participate in the club’s tour of Japan, according to information relayed by RMC. This decision comes after months of disagreement between Mbappé and the club’s management, following the player’s announcement of his intention to leave the club in the summer of 2024.
Just a few weeks after the announcement of the extension of his contract until 2025, the player declared through a letter that he did not wish to activate his additional year. This announcement did not please President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is still awaiting a response from Mbappé regarding his contract extension.
According to RMC Sport, PSG is convinced that Mbappé has already made a deal with Real Madrid for a free departure next year, which is perceived as a betrayal by the French club. To put pressure on the player, the Parisian club has put Mbappé on the transfer market.
