Mbappé Praises Morocco’s World Cup Success: "They Showed There Are No Barriers"
Kylian Mbappé, who has been visiting Cameroon since July 6, gave an interview with a local television channel. The captain of the Blues and star striker of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) notably spoke about Morocco’s run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The French player praised the performance of the Moroccan national team during the competition. "Morocco has shown that there are no barriers, that there is no reason to impose any on themselves," he said. According to Mbappé, the Atlas Lions showed great determination in beating teams like Portugal, Spain and finishing top of their group with Belgium, Croatia, Canada. "They didn’t have an easy path, but they were there," he insisted, recalling their friendly win against Brazil.
Mbappé also addressed his relationship with Moroccan player Achraf Hakimi. "He’s my friend, he’s my teammate too. He’s a very good player and it’s a pleasure for me to share and invest with him," he affirmed, while recalling that they had already faced each other and that he wished the best for Hakimi, both in club and in the national team.
