PSG’s Achraf Hakimi Named World’s Best Right-Back in ESPN Poll

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi was elected the best right-back on the planet in a recent poll conducted by the American channel ESPN.
Thanks to the votes of experts and the analysis of various reports, Hakimi surpassed football stars like Trippier from Newcastle and Kyle Walker from Manchester City. ESPN highlights his performance, stating that PSG has given Hakimi the opportunity to show that he is the best in his position and/or as a winger in the world.
Achraf Hakimi, 24, stands out for his impressive attacking stats. For each of the last four seasons, he has managed to score between four and seven goals in the league while delivering 31 to 36 assists. Beyond his offensive performances, ESPN notes that Hakimi’s defensive effort has also improved. For the channel, Hakimi will likely remain a central element within PSG. Despite potential changes in the team, the Moroccan should maintain an exceptional level of play.
Hakimi’s career has been built through several prestigious European clubs. This is evidenced by his contributions for Real Madrid in the Champions League, and for Inter Milan in the acquisition of the Serie A title in Italy. At PSG, he contributed to the Ligue 1 title and the Trophée des Champions in the 2021-22 season.
The year 2022 also saw Hakimi play a key role in Morocco’s exceptional run at the World Cup, including the winning penalty shot against Spain in the round of 16. These exploits earned him a place in the IFFHS 2022 World Team of the Year.
