PSA Morocco Prepares for Gradual Restart of Auto Production with Safety Measures

PSA Morocco will soon resume its industrial activities, even if the recovery will be gradual. In any case, measures are being taken to ensure health safety.
The Moroccan subsidiary of the French manufacturer PSA is ready to resume its industrial activities. All possibilities are being examined for a gradual resumption at the Kenitra site. Health measures are being taken for this purpose. This is what the company’s top management has stated, as reported by L’Économiste.
The resumption will depend on commercial activity, but even more so on the manufacturer’s production sites and suppliers, it is specified. We are reassured about the quality of the products, even if the resumption will be at a low pace depending on market conditions. The employees are mobilized for the cause. The real impact of the crisis on the company’s cash flow is not measurable in terms of figures. The company’s Cash Out level remains high, with debts to suppliers.
In terms of ambitions, the group wants to double its production capacity. To this end, Rémi Cabon, director of PSA Morocco, stated that despite the crisis, service providers, partners and suppliers have been mobilized in several countries. A projection of 30 vehicles assembled per hour as early as September is already being considered.
The company will also record the arrival of the "Citroën AMI", a strategic project. A low-cost electric vehicle, on the Kenitra assembly lines. This will be the second vehicle to be assembled after the Peugeot 208, announced a company executive. The "Citroën AMI" will revolutionize urban mobility, as it can be recharged in 3 hours on a 220V domestic outlet and can reach a speed of 45 km/h for 70 km of range. It is also dedicated to rental for a monthly fee of 20 euros.
