US Proposes Arab-Led Peacekeeping Force for Gaza, Including Morocco

The United States would plan to set up a peacekeeping force in Gaza at the end of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Morocco should be part of it.
The information is reported by the British daily The Financial Times which states that the Biden administration wants this peacekeeping force to be composed solely of Arab countries and that Morocco, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates should be part of it. The role of this force would be to ensure the transition, pending the establishment by the Palestinians of a security system in the Gaza Strip.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is said to have exchanged with these three countries, who have reaffirmed their willingness to contribute to the maintenance of peace in the region in the aftermath of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But Morocco, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates "would first like the United States to recognize a Palestinian state," the British newspaper specified.
The Arab countries also want the United States and Western countries to put pressure on Israel to take "irreversible measures" in favor of a return to peace. They believe that the administration of the Gaza Strip should be entrusted to a "reformed" Palestinian leadership whose authority would extend over the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The initiative is not welcomed by all Arab countries. Saudi Arabia, for example, would not have adhered to it, for fear of being accused of being "accomplices of Israel" or being forced to carry out a military intervention after a possible Hamas insurrection. Fears that show the difficulty of seeing this American initiative prosper.
