Israel Unveils Post-War Gaza Plan Involving Arab Coalition

More is known about Israel’s plan for the post-war period in Gaza, in which the Hebrew state associates countries such as Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Israel plans to install a temporary Israeli military government in Gaza that will be responsible for humanitarian needs, reports the Israeli newspaper Maariv, adding that this executive will gradually hand over control of the strip to a new Palestinian state. It was recently indicated that an international coalition of Arab states including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain would take control of the Gaza Strip.

The coalition will be part of a regional normalization agreement. Its mission will be to establish an entity known as the New Palestinian Authority, which will be composed of people with no ties to Hamas or Fatah. The next phase will be to replace the military government with a Palestinian government. Israel will maintain overall security control in Gaza throughout this period and beyond, just as it has done in the West Bank, we learn.

Developed by a number of businessmen, including close associates of the Prime Minister, and presented to US officials, the plan also provides for the reform of all Palestinian Authority institutions in the West Bank, with a focus on the elimination of incitement to terrorism in the education system and the deterrence of terrorism within the Palestinian population.

This plan will be implemented over four years. After its implementation, Israel will have to agree to recognize a demilitarized Palestinian state within the territory of the Palestinian Authority.
