UK Warns Citizens Against Travel to Morocco and Middle East Amid Rising Tensions

The United Kingdom has placed several countries including Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on the list of destinations that its nationals should avoid due to a high risk of attacks in this period marked by the war between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas.
On Friday, the Foreign Office (UK Foreign Office) advised its nationals to avoid traveling to 18 countries including Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Algeria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Syria, Iraq and Qatar. This new alert is motivated by the high risk of terrorist attacks that could be generated by the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, but also the serious developments of tensions between the Hebrew state and Iran. The latter launched more than 300 drones and missiles against Israel on the night of Saturday to Sunday, in response to a strike against its consulate in Damascus. An unprecedented attack carried out by the Islamic Republic against Israeli territory.
Morocco is one of the favorite destinations of British tourists. And the United Kingdom remains one of the main source countries of tourists for Morocco after France. Marrakech, Essaouira and Agadir connected to British cities by several direct air links remain the main destinations of choice for British tourists.
