Prominent Moroccan Surgeon’s Human Trafficking Case Unveils New Details

The case of Dr. Hassan Tazi, the famous Casablanca surgeon, placed in pre-trial detention in the Oukacha prison for human trafficking and abuse of weakness, has not finished revealing its secrets.
Zineb B., ranked second in the order of criminal responsibilities in this case, is an intermediary, recruited for her ability to convince and collect donations, reports Al Ahdath al Maghribia. The managers of Dr. Hassan Tazi’s clinic got to know her in 2016. At the time, she had raised significant donations for the realization of an operation for Aya, a child suffering from chronic obesity. She also managed to collect donations for other patients cared for by the clinic.
Zineb’s great persuasive ability eventually seduced the doctor’s wife. She contacts her and offers her to intensify her actions in exchange for a commission deducted from the collected donations, up to 20% of the donation amount.
Zineb B. was thus able to convince businessmen, artists and other public figures to make donations by showing them videos of patients who would benefit from these donations. She acknowledged that these personalities made donations ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 dirhams for the care of sick children. Everything was going smoothly until this case broke out following a complaint filed by one of the donors.
