Prominent Moroccan Notary Arrested in $10 Million Embezzlement Scandal

Arrested at his home, the notary was taken to the BNPJ headquarters in Casablanca. The public prosecutor’s office has received more than 60 complaints, but 48 have been withdrawn after mediation by influential people. 12 cases remain pending before the public prosecutor’s office against the incriminated notary, however "very well known in the city for his charitable and charitable actions".

Apart from the 32 million dirhams recovered by a local bank, equivalent to the sale price of a plot of land that the notary held as a guarantee deposit with the institution, "the other assets held by the notary have been seized as a precautionary measure", specifies the same source.
