Polisario Leader Threatens Inevitable War with Morocco over Western Sahara

Sunday 28 July 2019, by Bladi.net

While the Polisario Front is in full preparation for its next Congress, Brahim Ghali, President of the self-proclaimed Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), has made tendentious statements that could further exacerbate relations with the Rabat authorities.

This is one of the most spectacular elements in which the Polisario Front leader directly addresses the Kingdom. A video of more than 3 minutes, circulating on social networks, in which Brahim Ghali appears in person, surrounded by some of his most loyal lieutenants, all seated around a table.

In the video in question, we see the Polisario Chief making incendiary statements that could provoke reactions from the Moroccan authorities in the coming days. "War is an unavoidable step and we must prepare for that day, right now. When, how and where? These are just details but the most important thing is to be ready," Brahim Ghali hinted.

Further on, the President of the self-proclaimed SADR seems to know what makes Morocco’s chest swell in the dispute opposing it to the SADR. "Morocco is stubborn and supported by the great powers and does not seem willing to give in. The emissaries and envoys of the UN Secretary General have followed one another and all have resigned, for one reason or another," he affirms. He concludes by sharing that the path of confrontation "is not to be ruled out but it is becoming closer and closer".

Such violent statements are provoking a reaction from "Futuro Sahara". According to this Polisario opposition portal, these statements by Brahim Ghali, which come at a time when preparations for the Polisario Front Congress are underway, are "devoid of any meaning".

It remains to be seen whether the Rabat authorities will react to these provocative statements.
