Sahrawi Leader Urges UN Action on Prisoners in Moroccan Jails Amid Health Crisis

The president of the "Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic" (SADR), Brahim Ghali, is calling on the United Nations to protect "political" prisoners in Moroccan prisons during this health crisis.
He, who is also the Secretary General of the Polisario Front, has alerted the United Nations to the situation of "political" prisoners in the prison environment in Morocco. According to Brahim Ghali, these prisoners live in poor conditions in the "jails". Faced with this situation, he has called on the UN to work to protect the Sahrawi people.
Last March, the president of the "SADR" had sent a letter to the Secretary General of the organization, Antonio Guterres, to ask him to intervene urgently for the release of "Sahrawi political" prisoners from Moroccan prisons, in order to limit the spread of the new coronavirus.
