Polisario Leader Ghali Deflects Questions on Controversial Spain Visit

The leader of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, refused to give details about his entry and stay in a hospital in Spain, asking the media to stick to the explanations provided by the Spanish government. This was during the press conference he held on Saturday, the first since his return to Tindouf.
"This is a false debate," Brahim Ghali said about the controversy that continues to rage over his entry into Spain for humanitarian reasons, refusing to give more details on the subject. In front of the international press he summoned, the Polisario Front leader says he "respects" the explanations provided by the Spanish government on the conditions of his entry into Spain. "I won’t say more. I was in a critical situation, I was admitted to the hospital, I’m cured and I’m here, alive," he added.

Brahim Ghali did not fail to return to the recent decision of the European court annulling the fisheries agreements between the EU and Morocco which included the waters of the Sahara. This decision is "a great victory for the Sahrawi people represented by the Polisario Front" and "shows that the Sahara is a country distinct from Morocco".
