Police in Spain Rescue Young Man from Suicide Attempt on Building Rooftop

Three police officers averted a tragedy in Lugo, in northwestern Spain. Thanks to their quick intervention, they saved a 23-year-old man of Moroccan origin who was threatening to jump from a building under construction. Several residents had called the emergency services to report the presence of a person on the roof of the building.
Alejandro, a local police officer, was the first to arrive on the scene, reports Antena3. He was joined by a patrol of the national police, and together they noticed the presence of the young man on the roof. The latter, of Moroccan origin and having family problems, had threatened to throw himself into the void if the police approached him.
After a difficult negotiation, the police officers managed to gain the trust of the young Moroccan. They managed to convince him not to take his own life, by explaining to him the consequences it would have for his family, especially for his 3-month-old daughter. Finally, the police officers managed to approach him and rescue him by making him come down from the building.
The young man was taken care of by the emergency services waiting at the bottom. He thanked the police officers for their quick intervention and professionalism. The police officers, for their part, admitted to being moved by the happy outcome of this intervention, which could have ended tragically.
