Police Sergeant Arrested in Morocco for Alleged Embezzlement Scheme

The National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) has arrested a police sergeant who was serving as an accountant in the mobile brigade for maintaining order in Meknes. He is accused of embezzlement.
The sergeant was spotted during an inspection carried out by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). An investigation was initiated and led to his arrest in Fnideq. For the moment, no details have been given on the exact amount embezzled. But according to the BNPJ, it is significant enough to require a surprise inspection.
The investigation is still ongoing to determine if the accused acted alone or is part of an active network in the embezzlement of funds within the police. In the meantime, he has been suspended and taken into custody.
