Police Commissioner Traps Taxi Driver Accused of Harassing Multiple Passengers

A Police Commissioner, in charge of the fight against violence against women, set a trap for a taxi driver accused of multiple harassment towards his customers.
According to the daily Assabah, the sister of a Public Prosecutor, a recent victim of sexual harassment by the taxi driver, filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which immediately ordered the arrest of the suspect.
The police commissioner in charge of the case set a trap for the suspect, asking the victim to give him her phone number and set an appointment with him in a neighborhood in Salé, where elements of the national security were waiting.
The victim told the judicial police that the harasser had not stopped sending her videos and obscene messages on the Whatsapp application.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the harasser, who was taken into custody, was actually married and the father of two children. He was prosecuted for sexual harassment and attempted rape.
The Salé Prefecture, which is closely following the course of the investigation, should withdraw his license of trust (essential to practice his profession) if the charges against him are confirmed, the daily said.
