Police Brutality Investigation Launched in Ceuta After World Cup Celebration Incident

Following the celebration of Morocco’s victory over Portugal, three women would have been assaulted by police officers in Ceuta. The authorities of the city have decided to open an investigation.
A video showing the incident has been widely shared on social networks. The recording shows how the agents of the rapid intervention unit hit three women who were in the street, reports the EFE agency, according to which the events would have taken place in the center of the city of Ceuta.
The dissemination of this video has prompted a reaction from the city authorities, who have announced the opening of an investigation against the agents identified in the video, with a view to possible legal proceedings.
According to the police report, the operation launched on the occasion of the Morocco-Portugal match, in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, was "without incident."
