Police Arrest 53 Minors in School Drug Trafficking Crackdown, Minister Reports

From January to March 2022, the police arrested 1,270 people, including 53 minors, for drug trafficking near schools, according to the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, during his appearance before the House of Representatives.
This is in response to an oral question asked by the group of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) on the efforts made by the Ministry of National Education in the fight against drug trafficking, which is increasing in the school environment.
Chakib Benmoussa stressed that awareness programs have been organized in consultation with the authorities at various levels. "Actions that have so far benefited 243,000 students and 960 associations," he assures.
Aware of the damage caused by the phenomenon, the minister specified that preventive actions against drug trafficking have been integrated into the school curriculum.
