PJD Official Arrested in Bar Bribery Scandal, Shocking Morocco’s Islamist Party

The case of the deputy Maelainine who would have removed her veil in Paris seems like a joke compared to this one! A commune president from the Islamist PJD party has just been arrested and convicted in a sordid and strange corruption case.
At first, the commune president (commune of Haddada) wanted to bring down two elected officials for blackmail. The latter were blackmailing him about texts he was seeking to have adopted within the municipal council without having the majority. So he trapped them. And where? In a bar.
They were arrested in flagrante delicto, receiving a bribe from the PJD commune president in a bar in Kénitra. This was a few months ago. But the latter did not stop there and they themselves sued the commune president, claiming that he had offered them 60,000 dirhams to have texts adopted.
According to Al Akhbar, this complaint was validated and the investigation revealed that the PJD commune president was indeed offering sums of money in exchange for support and votes for the adoption of texts. There would even be recordings incriminating him. It should be noted that the commune president completely denied everything but the court sentenced him nonetheless to four months in prison and a fine of 6,000 dirhams for corruption.
