PJD Leader El Othmani Welcomes Benkirane’s Potential Run in Moroccan Elections
The Head of Government and leader of the PJD, Saâdeddine El Othmani, assured that the candidacy of Abdalilah Benkirane in the upcoming electoral deadlines does not bother him or his political party at all. The door is clearly open for the latter to run in his stronghold in Salé.
Thus, at the press forum organized by the MAP, El Othmani declared that his predecessor is free to run in the next elections and that no one within the party opposes it, rejecting the rumors that "the General Secretariat (the executive body of the party) is trying to exclude him".
In the same vein, the PJD Secretary General reassured about the absence of a leadership conflict between Benkirane and himself, as whispered in public opinion, after the publication of a first list where Benkirane did not appear.

Furthermore, El Othmani explained that the General Secretariat has recently ruled on certain candidacies, but has not yet finished examining the candidacies for the Rabat Salé region, adding that this will be done in the next two days.
