Over 400 Moroccans Escape Ukraine as Thousands More Seek Safety Amid Russian Invasion

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 436 Moroccans have managed to flee the country by passing through the border posts to which the Moroccan embassy in Kiev had asked them to go.
251 Moroccans have fled Ukraine to Romania. 97 arrived on Saturday, and 154 on Sunday, February 27. 130 were able to flee by crossing Poland and 46 Moroccans left the country for Slovakia.
Despite this number of Moroccans who have managed to flee Ukraine, there are nearly 9,000 still on the roads, trying to take shelter from the intense Russian bombardment of Ukraine.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made four emergency numbers available to Moroccans residing in Ukraine, in order to provide them with assistance. Unfortunately, according to very numerous testimonies received by Bladi.net, it is very rare for people to answer the emergency numbers.
