Ukrainian Universities Allegedly Withhold Moroccan Students’ Passports Over Unpaid Fees

The universities where Moroccan students are currently enrolled would refuse to return their passports. The goal: to force them to pay all tuition fees in order to allow them to leave the country.
Moroccan students still stranded in Ukraine are facing many difficulties, including the confiscation of their passports by certain Ukrainian schools and universities, which refuse to return them unless they pay the full tuition fees, according to numerous groups on Telegram and WhatsApp.
According to testimonies from Moroccan students in the metro stations, the situation is very complicated. Many find themselves without a travel document, torn between the desire to flee and the fear of leaving such a precious document behind.
They do not know if the border crossings recommended by the Moroccan embassy in Ukraine actually allow them to reach Germany. These Moroccan students do not know what to do with the contradictory information they have about their repatriation.
And what about the emergency numbers made available to the Moroccan community in Ukraine, which according to many complaints, are unavailable? Moroccans complain of a total lack of coordination, while on the official channels of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moroccan citizens should benefit from assistance and advice.
