Over 50,000 Moroccan Expats Return Home in First Week of Annual ’Marhaba’ Operation

The Marhaba Operation 2022, which started on June 15, recorded the passage of more than 50,000 Moroccans living abroad and 15,000 vehicles from Spanish ports to Morocco in one week.
During these first seven days of the Marhaba Operation, a total of 51,458 Moroccans living abroad and 15,085 vehicles embarked from the seven Spanish ports selected for Morocco, according to data from the civil protection department of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior.

Most traveled from Algeciras (31,504 Moroccans living abroad and 10,787 vehicles) and Tarifa (7,404 Moroccans living abroad and 756 vehicles), the two ports that record the largest volume of flows, or about 75.6% of the total. In the other Spanish ports, the flow is less important. In Almeria, 6,005 Moroccans living abroad and 1,931 vehicles have embarked since June 15.
