Osasuna Demands Explanation for Controversial VAR Decision in Celta Vigo Match

Osasuna is asking the Technical Refereeing Committee (CTA) for explanations regarding the cancellation on Monday of the goal by Moroccan Abdessamad Ezzalzouli during the match against Celta de Vigo, when the VAR image does not clearly indicate the offside position of Chimy Ávila, cited to cancel this goal.
"CA Osasuna requests clarification from the Technical Refereeing Committee on the goal scored by Abde that was disallowed in tonight’s (Monday, ed.) match against Real Club Celta de Vigo. The image presented by the VAR in no way proves the offside position of the striker "Chimy" Ávila in the action," Osasuna said in a statement released after the game.
Murcia referee José María Sánchez Martínez did not validate the goal of the Moroccan striker, scored in the final minutes of the match, which would have given the victory to Osasuna. The VAR showed that the Argentine striker, Ávila, who wanted to touch the ball, finally let Ezzazouli’s cross pass, deceiving Vigo goalkeeper Iván Villar, reports The Objective.
Osasuna intends to seize the official bodies to "request explanations about this refereeing error due to a misinterpretation of the VAR" which has harmed it "in a remarkable way". The Navarrese club reiterates its greatest respect for the CTA and welcomes the advent of the VAR intended to help referees in their difficult work. But it "demands more rigor in the use of this technology in a high-level competition like the Liga".
