Nicolas Cage Returns in ’Lords of War’ Sequel, Filming in Morocco and Hungary

Filming of the film "Lords of War", a sequel to "Lord of war" by New Zealand director Andrew Niccol released in 2005, will soon begin in Morocco and Hungary.
The filming of Lords of war, whose international sales will be launched at the Cannes Film Festival, is due to begin in Hungary and Morocco in the fall of 2023, reports Screen Daily. Nicolas Cage will reprise the role of Yuri Orlov, the famous arms dealer, alongside Bill Skarsgård who will play his son. The latter does not try to repair his father’s mistakes, but to surpass them and to form an army of mercenaries to fight against the American conflicts in the Middle East, summarizes the synopsis. The story shows the rivalry between father and son.
Like Lord of war, the new film will be produced by Vendôme Pictures (Philippe Rousselet and Fabrice Gianfermi), in co-production with Saturn Films, Nicolas Cage’s company. In the director’s chair, Andrew Niccol, who also wrote the screenplay. "There is so much to explore with these characters. As Plato said best: ’Only the dead have seen the end of war.’ I look forward to spending more time with the charming devil that is Yuri Orlov and now his illegitimate - which turns out to be anything but legitimate - son," comments Niccol.
"The Lord Of War universe has no shortage of ammunition in the storytelling possibilities we can explore, and we are very excited to tell another one that will follow the dangerous journey of Yuri and Anton," adds Philippe Rousselet.
