Pedro Pascal in Talks to Join Star-Studded ’Gladiator 2’ Cast for Morocco Shoot

Other faces are joining the cast of the film Gladiator 2, which will soon be filming in Ouarzazate, Morocco and is scheduled for release on November 22, 2024.
Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal, known for his supporting roles in the series Graceland and Mentalist, or in the hit series Game of Thrones in which he plays the role of Oberyn Martell, is in talks to join the cast of Ridley Scott’s film Gladiator 2, reports Deadline, without specifying the role he could play. If this were to be confirmed, he would join Paul Mescal, who will play Lucius, as well as Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington.
Gladiator 2 will follow the story of Lucius - the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix’s tyrannical character Commodus, who was saved by Maximus in the first film. Connie Nielsen - who played Lucius’ mother, Lucilla - will be back, along with Beninese-American actor Djimon Hounsou who had played the role of Juba - a man kidnapped from his home by slave traders.
Released in 2000, Gladiator is one of the greatest historical epics in cinema history alongside Spartacus and Ben-Hur. The film was awarded five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor.
