'Gladiator 2' Filming Resumes in Morocco After On-Set Accident

The day after the spectacular accident that occurred in Morocco during the filming of the second installment of Gladiator, the production company wanted to reassure about the health of the injured.

Director Ridley Scott has returned to direct the sequel to his film, the title of which is still unknown. The first film won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe.

The cast is just as impressive for this new opus. Among them is Irish actor Paul Mescal, known for his role in Normal People. Rumors also suggest that the cast would include Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal from The Last Of Us, Joseph Quinn from Stranger Things, and Gladiator actress Connie Nielsen.

Paramount Pictures has assured that "the well-being of the cast and crew is of paramount importance to us, and we have strict health and safety procedures in place on all our productions." Filming of the film will resume, with all necessary precautions being taken to ensure the safety of the crew, they say.

To recall, the original Gladiator film told the story of the Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridius, played by Crowe, who transforms from a war hero to a slave and gladiator after the death of Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
