A casino to build in the Middle East, criminal dealings and desert landscapes. Netflix is going big for the third season of The Gentlemen. The platform officially announced on Friday, October 23, that Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood are joining its hit series.

The two actors, who played Legolas and Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, are joining a cast already led by Theo James and Kaya Scodelario. Robert Carlyle, known in particular for Trainspotting, is also among the new additions.

But the big surprise is also the locations. To tell the new adventures of Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass, the production chose Morocco, where cameras began rolling on September 13.

The first scenes were filmed in Rabat, before production moved to Erfoud, on the edge of the Sahara.

This new season will see Eddie and Susie take on their most ambitious project yet: building a casino in the Middle East. The venture promises new clashes in the criminal world imagined by Guy Ritchie.

In its official announcement, Netflix confirms that filming is taking place in Morocco and the United Kingdom. The platform also unveiled a first photo showing the two main characters in a luxurious tent, with dunes in the background.

Guy Ritchie, creator of the series adapted from his 2019 film, returns to direct alongside Eran Creevy. Eight episodes are planned, with Matthew Read writing.

The cast also includes Dexter Fletcher, Bruna Marquezine, Ed Speleers, Saffron Burrows and Bugzy Malone.

Filming in Morocco is also bringing work to local businesses. Accrocar, a company specializing in high-end vehicles, says it supplied a Rolls-Royce and a Bentley to the production.
