Omar Sy to Lead Netflix’s ’Extraction’ Series: Morocco Set for High-Stakes Action Thriller

The successful American film Extraction, exclusively distributed on Netflix, will soon be adapted into a series. The filming of the first season will take place in part in Morocco.
After India, Thailand, Australia and the Czech Republic, it is now Morocco’s turn to host the filming crew for the first season of the Extraction series. Filming is expected to begin in December 2025 and continue until mid-2026, including other filming locations, reports the site Whats on Netflix. Louise Hooper will direct some episodes of the series produced by Glen Mazzara ("The Rookie", "The Walking Dead").
French actor Omar Sy will play the hero of the series. "This action thriller follows a mercenary trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers as he embarks on a perilous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. The series explores the emotional conflicts of flawed and conflicted characters, each facing trauma, betrayal and life-or-death choices," summarizes the official synopsis.
