’The White Lotus’ Eyes Marrakech for Fourth Season

Mike White, creator of The White Lotus, plans to shoot the next season of the HBO series in Africa, more specifically in Morocco. And a Moroccan hotel is already catching the eye of the American screenwriter, TV producer and director.
After the first season in Hawaii, the second season in Sicily and the third in Thailand, the fourth season of the HBO series The White Lotus will likely take place in Africa, at a hotel in Marrakech. "Mike wants to do a White Lotus series on every continent," a source at the U.S. HBO channel who was recently in a meeting with director Mike White told Mail on Sunday. Africa fascinates White Lotus fans for its warmth, exotic locations and spectacular scenery. Marrakech offers both warmth and intrigue.
White has not officially announced the location for the fourth season of his hit series, but he is leaning towards Africa. In 2021, White Lotus’ production team signed a £25 million contract for an exclusive shoot at the Four Seasons resorts. According to a source, the five-star hotel complex occupying 40 hectares in the heart of the medina of the city - its former market - is "perfect" because "it has Moorish gardens, the souk, the Yves Saint Laurent gardens nearby, spas and a kasbah with a view of the Atlas."
