Nearly 1 Million Moroccan Expats Return Home in Annual Summer Migration

As of July 23, more than 900,000 (932,120) Moroccans from Europe have embarked from Spanish ports to Morocco as part of the outward phase of Operation Marhaba.
Since the launch of the operation on June 15, 932,120 Moroccans living abroad have embarked from Spanish ports to Morocco, including 664,699 via the ports of Algeciras and Tarifa, reports EFE. On Sunday, there were 47,844, according to data from Civil Protection.
For Sunday alone, 32,385 Moroccans living abroad transited through Algeciras and Tarifa through 47 rotations on the Algeciras-Tanger Med line, 23 on the Algeciras-Ceuta line and 14 on the Tarifa-Tanger-Ville line.
Regarding vehicles, 223,695 have already entered Morocco, including 157,882 from the ports of Algeciras and Tarifa. On Sunday, 11,101 were boarding in the Spanish ports, including 7,518 in Algeciras and Tarifa.
For the return phase, which began on July 15, 93,475 Moroccans living abroad and 24,767 vehicles have already transited through the Spanish ports, including 71,075 and 16,585, respectively, through Algeciras and Tarifa.
