Muslim Charity Donates 10,000 FFP2 Masks to French Hospitals Amid Shortage

The association El Badr offered, last Thursday, March 19, 10,000 FFP2 masks to hospitals and healthcare professionals in Moselle.

A non-profit humanitarian association, El Badr has been working for 5 years in partnership with the NGO Caravanes Solidaires. These donations, previously intended for Syria, have finally been distributed among several establishments in Moselle.

The association sends a container filled with medical equipment, medicalized beds, wheelchairs, paramedical equipment, baby products and food to Syria and Yemen every three months.

In addition to the hospitals, Robert-Schumann and Mercy, which each received 1,200 masks from it, El Badr also provided masks to the Sainte-Agathe pharmacy and laboratory, to four doctors in Florange and to self-employed nurses in Florange. The association also donated 300 masks to the Ehpad Les Séquoias and 1,200 masks as well as sterile gowns that will be used in the intensive care unit at the Bel-Air hospital in Thionville and the Claude-Bernard hospital in Metz.

It should be noted that this wonderful initiative responds to the urgent needs of healthcare facilities in France at a time when the Covid-19 epidemic is worsening and caregivers are sorely lacking in masks. It comes after the stock of 1,300 FFP2 masks offered by the association Barakacity to hospitals and healthcare professionals in the Île-de-France region.
