Motherson Expands: New Automotive Parts Plant in Tangier Creates 300 Jobs

The Indian company specializing in automotive interior plastic components, Motherson, has opened a new plant in Tangier. It will supply dashboards and door panels for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
Inaugurated by Ivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman of the company, the new unit is replacing the existing Motherson site in Tetouan, created in 2010, according to a company press release, specifying that it is built on an area of 15,000 m² (which is twice as large as the old one).
This new facility will create 300 jobs in applications such as plastic injection molding or high-precision robot-assisted milling, plastic welding and airbag integration solutions. The components manufactured there will be exclusively for the Renault manufacturer, its sole customer, it is specified.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said: "this operation was carried out without any hitches and without disruption for our customer. The proximity to the Renault site will reduce transportation costs and increase capacity".
