Mother of ISIS Child Recruit Arrested at Paris Airport, Young Daughter Still Missing

Upon returning from Syria via Istanbul, following her expulsion by the Turkish authorities, Jana’s mother-in-law was arrested on Monday at Roissy. After her indictment on Friday evening, she was incarcerated for criminal terrorist conspiracy, child abduction and child abandonment.
Jihane Makhzoumi had left Villefontaine (Isère) in August 2014 with her partner Eddy Leroux, converted to Islam under the name of Zayed, and three girls born from their previous relationships (Jana, Maryam and Noussayba) in addition to their six-week-old baby. Via Switzerland, they had reached the Turkish-Syrian border, reports Le Parisien.
Jana’s mother is devastated by the non-return of her daughter, whose photo remains the last memory she has of her, dating back to July 2015. Jana, Eddy Leroux’s first daughter, who is the subject of a complaint for child abduction by ascendant filed by her mother in August 2014, was not with Jihane Makhzoumi and her brothers and sisters on the return flight.
Jana’s mother has filed a complaint against X "to find out who is the person who has custody of her daughter in Syria" she explained to La République du centre. But Jana’s mother had offered Ilham Tarbouni to withdraw her complaint to allow the family to go to Morocco, in exchange for her daughter.
"She even wanted to sell Jana. She asked for money, 10,000 euros. Part for the smuggler who would take Jana away, the other to help her and Eddy live. But he died in the summer of 2015. Who knows, maybe she sold my daughter to leave Syria," worries Jana’s mother.
