Moroccan Mother Faces Trial for International Child Abduction Amid Custody Dispute

As part of a parental conflict that began in 2013, Rachida, 32, was tried in a correctional court for child abduction from the person in charge of her custody and for retention in Morocco. The prosecutor is seeking 8 months of suspended prison sentence against her.
This 32-year-old Moroccan woman abducted her 8-year-old daughter (whose residence had been fixed with her father in Caen by the children’s judge) from the person in charge of her custody by taking her to her family in Morocco from Monday, February 15, 2016 to Monday, May 23, 2016, reports Actu.fr.
Awaiting the follow-up to her complaint, relating to the touching, or even worse, that the father would indulge in on the little girl, Rachida says she wants to protect her daughter, whom a medical examination had declared deflowered, adds the same source. Despite a denunciation that will not be followed up in 2013, the young mother has become fixated on it, her ex-partner and the father of her daughter is dangerous for their little girl, to the point of sometimes refusing to present the child to him.
On their return to France in May 2016, a new examination certified the good health of the little girl, on whom the doctors did not diagnose the slightest evidence of rape. She is a good student and happy with her father who describes his ex-partner as crazy, alcoholic, drugged, and accuses her of wanting to "break the ties we have, my daughter and I."
The psychiatric expertise is not favorable to Rachida: depressive state in a hysterical person, disappointed by her married life, neurotic, but not perverse, reports the same source.
The prosecutor is seeking 8 months of suspended prison sentence against Rachida. "It is an unconscious defense mechanism. There was no criminal intent," pleads her lawyer.
