Mother Arrested for Killing Two Young Children in Moroccan Tragedy

The day before her arrest, this woman in her forties had decided to kill her two children, a 4-year-old boy and his barely 2-year-old sister.

Victim twice of unwanted pregnancy, and without financial resources to meet the needs of her children, the mother could no longer bear the very difficult situation in which she found herself, reports the newspaper Assabah.

On the evening of the tragedy, she killed her two children by smothering them with a pillow. Seeing that her daughter was still breathing, she grabbed a knife and slit her throat. Then she tried to kill herself with a rope, without succeeding.

It was a neighbor who alerted the gendarmerie the next day after the infanticide, the mother having confessed the murder to him.
