Why the Arrival of the Apache AH-64E in Morocco Changes the Military Balance

It also represents a significant investment in modernizing its defense capabilities and securing the region.

The AH-64E Apache is an attack helicopter designed primarily for combat missions against tanks and armored vehicles, as well as close air support missions for ground forces, reconnaissance, and the neutralization of air defenses. Its major advantage in combat operations? It is an attack helicopter interoperable with numerous aircraft in service.

The AH-64E Apache features advanced technologies, composite armor and bulletproof glazing, electronic countermeasure systems, including flares, chaff, and jamming systems, as well as state-of-the-art avionics and a highly advanced surveillance and targeting radar using technology that enables it to operate effectively in a variety of conditions, at night or in bad weather. Not to mention two turboshaft engines developing 4000 horsepower. This enables it to reach high flight speeds and maneuver agilely and effectively in combat.

The two General Electric T700 turboshaft engines provide safety through redundancy, as well as hovering capability and the ability to perform complex maneuvers. In addition, the aircraft offers a modern night-vision system capable of detecting and tracking targets with formidable precision, by day and by night.
