Morocco’s World Cup Success Nets Team $17 Million FIFA Payout

By securing on Tuesday their ticket for the World Cup quarter-finals, the Moroccan national football team will receive the tidy sum of 17 million dollars, paid by FIFA.
According to the figures communicated by the international football body, it is a global envelope of 440 million dollars planned for the 32 teams at the World Cup. Each of them having already cashed in 1.5 million dollars to prepare for the competition.
According to the established scale, the teams that have reached the quarter-finals are guaranteed to pocket an envelope of 17 million dollars. This nice sum will be paid to the Atlas Lions, who won against La Roja (3-0 after penalties) on Tuesday, in the round of 16 of the competition.
This amount may increase if Walid Regragui’s protégés continue their run. In detail, FIFA has indicated that in case of qualification for the semi-finals, Morocco will receive at least 27 million dollars, if it finishes 4th. This reward will be 30 million dollars if the Atlas Lions finish 3rd. In case of final victory, the envelope will be around 42 million dollars.
