Morocco Women’s Team Beats Tunisia 3-1 in Pre-AFCON Friendly

In preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations they will host this summer, the players of the Moroccan women’s national team displayed their ambitions in a friendly match on Friday. On the pitch of the Père Jégo stadium in Casablanca, the Moroccans prevailed over their Tunisian counterparts.
The first goal of the match was scored by Yasmin Mrabet for Morocco in the 39th minute. At the start of the second half, Tunisia equalized through Sabah Cheikh in the 48th minute.
The Moroccan team quickly reacted. Ibtissam Jraidi gave Morocco the lead again in the 50th minute, followed by Imène El Ghazouani who scored the third Moroccan goal in the 55th minute, establishing the final score at 3-1.
As part of its preparations for the CAN, the Moroccan team will play a second friendly match against Cameroon on April 8.
After the match, the Moroccan captain, Ghizlane Chebbak, commented on the game: "The Ghanaian team is strong, and we wanted to face tough teams like this one to test our true level. Today, fortunately, we managed to win, but it was difficult," adding that the team would continue to work to improve its performance.
At the international level, the Atlas Lionesses have progressed in the latest FIFA world ranking, reaching 60th place. They rank third in Africa, behind Nigeria (36th worldwide) and South Africa (40th worldwide).
