Morocco Women’s Soccer Team Advances in Olympic Qualifiers with 2-0 Win over Namibia

The national women’s team secured its place for the third round of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers after beating Namibia 2-0 in the return leg played at the Prince Moulay Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.
The goals were scored by Iman Saoud in the 75th minute and by Ghizlane Chebbak on a penalty in the 89th minute. In the first leg, at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, the women’s team had already dominated Namibia with the same score.
During a post-match press conference, Jorge Vilda, the Spanish coach of the women’s team, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his players in the two matches against Namibia. Despite difficulties encountered in the first half, he said he was satisfied with the adjustments made in the second half. One of the strengths according to Vilda was the ability of his team not to concede any goals in the two matches, against a tough opponent.
The next step for the women’s team: to face Tunisia in the third round of the qualifiers. This confrontation comes after Tunisia’s qualification at the expense of Côte d’Ivoire, which had previously withdrawn.
