Morocco’s Women’s Futsal Team Wins African Cup, Earns King’s Praise and World Cup Spot

King Mohammed VI sent an official congratulatory message to the national women’s futsal team, following their victory on Wednesday in Rabat, during the 2025 African Cup of Nations (CAN) in the discipline.
The Sovereign expresses his "warmest congratulations for this African distinction which reinforces the constant development of women’s football in our country."
King Mohammed VI emphasizes the pride that this title represents in the first edition of the tournament, as well as the qualification for the inaugural World Cup in the Philippines at the end of 2025.
"It is a source of pride for Us that your promising team had the honor of winning the first edition of this African championship that our country hosted with great success, and also to secure your qualification for the next World Cup in its first edition, scheduled for the end of this year in the Philippines," states the royal message.
The King also praised "the high-level performance and elevated spirit of patriotism" of the players, while appreciating the efforts of all the technical, medical, administrative staff and leaders. The message concludes with wishes for success in future competitions and the assurance of the Sovereign’s "High solicitude and benevolence."
