Morocco’s Lionesses Roar to Historic Women’s AFCON Final, King Hails National Pride

King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to the members of the national women’s football team for their brilliant performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
In this message, the Sovereign states that he has followed with great pride the brilliant performance of the national team at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, crowned by a place in the final of this continental Championship, which Morocco hosted with warm hospitality and excellent organization, worthy of the Kingdom and its guests.
On this occasion, the Moroccan sovereign took the opportunity to salute the exemplary spirit of competitiveness and the high sense of patriotism shown by the members of the national women’s team throughout this championship, as well as their firm determination to establish the strong presence of Moroccan football at the continental and international levels, and to represent, as it should be, national women’s sports.
King Mohammed VI did not fail to also praise the efforts of all those who contributed to this exploit, players, technical, medical and administrative staff, imploring the Almighty to crown their sports career with success, in order to meet the expectations of passionate Moroccan supporters who aspire to more titles, while assuring them of His High solicitude and benevolence.
On Saturday evening, the Moroccan women’s football team lost 3-2 to the formidable Nigerian team in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
