Morocco: A woman gives birth in a tram after being refused at the hospital

The woman, accompanied by a family member, was in public transportation after an initial unsuccessful attempt at medical care. She had earlier presented herself at the Moulay Abdellah Hospital in Salé, but her admission could not be completed for reasons related to organization or medical reasons, reports Rue20. She therefore boarded the tram with the intention of going to the maternity ward of the Moulay Youssef Hospital in Rabat.

However, labor began during the journey. Faced with the imminent birth, the tram staff as well as the passengers present intervened to assist the mother. The birth took place on board the vehicle, before the mother and child could be taken care of.
