Rabat-Salé Tramway Hikes Fares: Commuters Face Higher Costs from July 1st

The management company of the Rabat-Salé tramway has published a new fare schedule. Ticket and subscription prices will soon be increased.
Starting July 1st, ticket and subscription prices will increase. Thus, the single ticket fare, which allows you to change lines within 60 minutes, will increase from 6 to 7 dirhams. The same fare will be applied for its electronic version, with the implementation of a "ticket + parking" service at a price of 14 dirhams, for a round trip, departing from the "Madinat Al Irfane" station in Rabat and the "Hay Karima" station in Salé. As for the "Trambus" ticket, it will increase from 8 to 10 dirhams. Intended in particular for the residents of Témara, this ticket allows you to continue the journey via bus line no. 30 after taking the tramway.
The management company of the Rabat-Salé tramway has also increased the prices of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual subscriptions. As of July 1, 2025, the "IRTIYAH Talib" monthly subscription, reserved for students under 26 years old enrolled in public or private institutions, will increase from 150 to 160 dirhams, an increase of 10 dirhams. As for the "IRTIYAH Tout Public" subscription rate, it will increase by 20 dirhams, from 250 to 270 dirhams per month. The quarterly subscription will now cost 750 dirhams, the semi-annual 1460 dirhams, and the annual 2700 dirhams.
However, the fines remain unchanged. The first-category fine is still set at 50 dirhams. It applies in several cases, including the absence of a ticket, non-validation, the use of a nominative subscription by another person, and exceeding the validity period or non-compliance with the smoking ban. As for the second-category fines, they remain set at 150 dirhams. These fines penalize behaviors such as obstructing the doors of the trains or other similar offenses.
Operated by the Transdev company, the Rabat-Salé tramway has been in service since 2011 and operates on two lines. One connects Hay Karima to Madinat Al Irfane, while the other goes from Moulay Abdellah Hospital to Yaacoub El Mansour.
