Morocco: Woman Arrested for Scamming Terminal Cancer Patients with Fake Cure

It seems that for some people, anything goes to make money. A woman was scamming cancer patients in Rabat by offering them a cure in exchange for large sums of money, and apparently making them suffer for this purpose to make them believe in a treatment.
This scammer who takes advantage of the distress of people who have no more alternatives has been incarcerated in the local prison of Salé on the orders of the court of first instance of Rabat. The brother of a cancer patient who has now died was behind her arrest.
This woman, according to Assabah, approached them, terminally ill cancer patients and their relatives, and offered them a very expensive treatment. Having tried everything unsuccessfully, the latter accepted. And the pseudo-treatment began, including cauterization to destroy the cancer cells. Intense heat... And the brother continued to pay. Until the death of his late sister in a clinic outside the kingdom. It was only then that he filed a complaint.
The woman, after her arrest, admitted to having received large sums of money for her alleged care. The amount obtained through this low-level scam reached 460,000 dirhams.
