Morocco Waives Vaccine Pass for Nationals Fleeing Ukraine Conflict

Moroccan nationals stranded in Ukraine who wish to leave the country to join Morocco by air from neighboring countries are exempted from the vaccine pass.

Moroccan nationals present on Ukrainian territory who wish to leave Ukraine by transiting through neighboring countries and taking flights to Morocco, particularly those connecting Istanbul to Casablanca, operated by the national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM), are exempted from presenting a vaccine pass for boarding, reports Le360.

Following the launch of the Russian military attack on Ukraine, the Moroccan embassy in Kiev, in a statement dated February 25, called on Moroccan citizens who have chosen to remain on Ukrainian territory to observe the orientations and security measures ordered by the competent Ukrainian authorities. It also advised them to "only leave their place of residence for an imperative necessity", to "be constantly in possession of their identity documents, and to remain in constant contact with the embassy and the crisis cell set up".

As for those who wish to leave Ukraine, the Moroccan diplomatic representation has asked them to go to the border crossing points with Romania, Hungary and Slovakia, where reception and support cells will be set up. It also called on Moroccans stranded in Ukraine to contact the crisis cell at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad on the toll-free numbers set up since February 14 (0 800 502 683 to call from Ukraine, and 0 537 663 300 to call from Morocco), in order to facilitate communication during this period of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
