Morocco Evacuates 35 Students from War-Torn Sumy, Ukraine

The Moroccan Ambassador to Ukraine, Faouz El Achabi, stated that 35 students who were blocked in Sumy were able to be evacuated on Tuesday, in coordination with the authorities of the country.
To succeed in this operation, the Moroccan embassy mobilized all its resources to enable these students to leave Sumy, a city located on the Russian-Ukrainian border, said Faouz El Achabi.
These students traveled by train from Poltava to Lviv, a journey that lasted 28 hours. She stressed that since the beginning of the crisis, the embassy has set up, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, a crisis cell, operational 24 hours a day, to facilitate the repatriation of Moroccan nationals from Ukraine.
More than 7,000 Moroccans were able to return to Morocco thanks to the work of the Moroccan embassy and the crisis cell, which, it is said, remained in constant contact with Moroccan students until their arrival at a safe place.
