Morocco Urges De-escalation as Gaza Violence Intensifies, Causing Casualties

The serious deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip is a concern for Morocco, which "calls for avoiding further escalation and restoring calm".
The Kingdom of Morocco is closely following with deep concern the serious deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip, due to the return of acts of violence and fighting, which have caused human losses and material damage, indicates the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad in a statement.
Morocco, whose sovereign, King Mohammed VI, chairs the Al-Quds Committee, calls for avoiding further escalation and restoring calm so that the situation does not deteriorate, thus sparing the region other tensions that compromise the chances of peace, specifies the same source. Also, the kingdom has reiterated its constant positions supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.
For Morocco, the lasting solution to the conflict between the Palestinian and Israeli parties lies in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state living side by side with the State of Israel in security and peace.
