Morocco Urges Advance Booking for Expats Returning Home in Summer 2025

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics informs all Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) wishing to return to Morocco via the kingdom’s ports as part of the Marhaba 2025 operation about the necessary preventive measures to take in organizing their trips.
Abdessamad Kayouh’s department invites MREs to book their tickets before going to the ports, in order to facilitate crossing operations, avoid congestion, and reduce waiting times, especially during the last two weeks of August, corresponding to the return phase. As in previous years, the system of advance ticket booking with fixed date and time is in effect for all maritime lines, particularly the Tanger Med - Algeciras and Tanger Ville - Tarifa lines, to ensure smooth travel and avoid congestion in ports during peak periods, the ministry reminded.
In a statement, it announced an expansion of the maritime system for the Marhaba 2025 operation. The fleet mobilized for this operation now includes 29 ships, operated by seven maritime companies, the ministry specifies. These boats will serve twelve maritime lines between Moroccan ports and those located in Spain, France, and Italy. This deployment will allow "up to 500,000 passengers and 130,000 vehicles to be transported each week under increased conditions of fluidity and safety," the same source further specifies.
The ministry’s services are working, in full coordination with the various national sectors involved in the Marhaba operation, to bring together all the technical and logistical conditions necessary for the success of this operation, while ensuring the improvement of the quality of services offered, both on board ships and inside ports, adds the statement.
