Tanger Med Port Introduces New Rules for Moroccan Diaspora’s Summer Return

As part of the Marhaba Operation 2025, the Tanger Med port authority recommends a round-trip ticket before accessing the port during the period from August 1 to 31, 2025.
Applied for the past five years in the ports of Tanger Ville, Tarifa, Nador and Ceuta, the measure has been introduced this year at Tanger Med and Algeciras in order to streamline the traffic of Moroccans from Europe transiting through these two ports as part of the Marhaba Operation.
Practical arrangements have been made to reduce the processing time for border and customs procedures, thanks to the coordination of elements from the General Directorate of National Security, the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, as well as the local authorities.
The Tanger Med port authority invites MREs to purchase their round-trip tickets before arriving at the port, either at the Tanger Med rest areas (entrance of the highway in Tanger) or the Ksar Sghir area, or through its website.
It has also called on them to schedule their trips outside of critical periods, particularly on Saturdays, Sundays and the last week of August.
