Morocco Unveils Strict Criteria for Repatriation of 30,000 Citizens Stranded Abroad

Since May 15, Morocco has begun the operation to repatriate its nationals blocked abroad. However, draconian conditions must be met.
The Moroccan authorities have set up a plan to repatriate the 30,000 citizens blocked abroad since March. To be able to access the program, they must register with the Moroccan consulates in the host countries and provide the following supporting documents:
• Copy of the first page of the passport
• Copy of the travel visa
• Copy of the stamp of entry into the foreign country
The operation, which is carried out in close coordination between the diplomatic representations abroad, the ministry in charge of MREs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Ministry of the Interior, gives absolute priority to the elderly or sick, pregnant women, families with young children and holders of visas with a reduced validity period.
In order to allow them to inform their loved ones of the date and final destination of the flight, the selected persons are contacted in advance by telephone or email.
